
Dr. Nasrin Rouzati
Dr. Nasrin Rouzati is a part time Associate Professor of Religious Studies in Manhattan
College, New York. She holds a Ph.D. from Durham University, UK in Middle Eastern / Islamic
Studies. Her research interests are Islamic Theology, Qur’anic Studies, and Theodicy. Her book
titled “Trial and Tribulation in the Qur’an: Towards a Mystical Theodicy” was published in 2015.
She is also the author of several articles including, “Evil and Human Suffering in Islamic
Thought”, and “Divine Love as the Reason for Creation in Islam—An Exploration of Nursi’s
Epistles of Light”. Dr. Rouzati has authored several book chapters which are currently under
publication. These include: Roudlege’s Handbook of Islamic Ethics, T&T Clarck’s Handbook of
the Problem of Evil, and Springer’s Rumi and Rumiology: Wisdom, Happiness, and Prosperity.
